Special Ops Responds to Extreme Flooding in Woodford County
At the request of Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM), our Special Operations Team deployed to Woodford County in response to extreme flooding along the Kentucky River. Working closely with our training partners at Versaillles Fire Department. Crews conducted multiple hasty searches, primary searches, and evacuations to assist residents in the affected areas.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our dedicated personnel—those who deploy and those who remain back to keep our community safe. Our ability to respond statewide depends on the strength of our full-time, part-time, and volunteer staff who ensure coverage continues at home.
When a Spec Ops crew is deployed, we maintain another team ready at HQ. In the event of a local swiftwater emergency, we’re also grateful to have mutual aid support from Breeding Fire Department, ensuring our local response capabilities remain strong.
